A very special Harp and Bandoneon Music Performance
Coloured with time-lapse photopraphy

THE PERFORMANCE

Harps: Julie Rokseth
Bandoneon: Andreas Rokseth
Duration*: 70 min + optional 20. min interval. Shorter program available*
Repertoire: Julie & Andreas’ original compositions and arrangements of tango
Genre: World Music — Argentinian Tango, Scandinavian Folk, Celtic music
Time-lapse Art**: Julie & Andreas

*It is possible to shorten the show to between 40–60 minutes for a still very satisfying experience.
**If projector and screen are not supported, the musical performance is strong enough to carry the audience, and can take place without the time-lapse video art.

In creating this performance it felt like the impossibility of touching time, seeing the world turn, and holding the sky in our hands.

This is our wish, that you find one of those special moments with us. A moment of profound wonder, maybe tinged with some sadness, maybe vibrating with joy – it doesn’t matter, just as long as it is one of those moments that will linger with you long after the last chord rings out.

So, come with us and let us share a brief moment together…

…with the sky in our hands.

Julie & Andreas

In this Performance harp and bandoneon are combined in an elegant and mesmerizing musical flow. This performance includes their playful and melancholic arrangements of Argentinan tango, where the Julie explores her newfound tango voice for the harp. The duo is deriving inspiration from the spectacular landscape of their home country Norway when composing and performing their own music, leading the audience into their musical world of Argentinean tango, Scandinavian and Celtic folk music.

The performance is coloured by time-lapse video art that Julie & Andreas have captured both in Norway and in Rotterdam, showing off the magical and hypnotising patterns of the clouds in the sky, small lakes mirroring the moon and beautiful sunrises.

THE DUO

Julie & Andreas
harp, bandoneon
“It’s extraordinarily exquisite in its combinations and dash of audacity.”

Classically trained virtuosos, this brother and sister have always wanted to play music together. Julie plays the harp, BUT Andreas plays the bandoneon. Harp with bandoneon?! They did it anyway! …and the result is truly… …breathtaking. Through this uncommon mix of instruments, combining the gritty heritage of the bandoneon with the majesty and elegance of the harp, a profound musical tension is created. This unique energy sparks and illuminates them as uncommonly beautiful in their innovative musical drift between folk, tango and classical styles.

Theirs is a truly rare and enchanting experience.
