In this Performance harp and bandoneon are combined in an elegant and mesmerising musical flow. The performance is created with the album “Sildring” at its core. This is the first album in a vinyl series in three parts called “ENE”. This series is inspired by the history of the people in the Northern coastal areas. The music in the series will be thrive to express different seasons and times of the year that had a special effect on the coastal people’s lives.
The “Sildring” performance is connected to the Spring and early Summer. It is deriving inspiration from a tiny Norwegian lighthouse island called Sula and the joy and hope that would surround the island this particular time of the year. This will shine out through the duos performance as they are leading the audience into their own musical world inspired from Scandinavian and Celtic folk music, tango and classical.
The performance is coloured by time-lapse video art that Julie & Andreas are capturing on the coast of Norway, showing off the magical and hypnotising patterns of the clouds in the sky, the birds’ beautiful patterns of flight and a sun that barely tips under the horizon in the late summer night.

“It’s extraordinarily exquisite in its combinations and dash of audacity.”
Through this uncommon mix of instruments, combining the gritty heritage of the bandoneon with the majesty and elegance of the harp, this brother and sister creates a profound musical tension. This unique energy sparks and illuminates them as uncommonly beautiful in their innovative musical drift between folk, tango and classical styles. Theirs is a truly rare and enchanting experience.
